This was the second day Noah had been out at night having Garm track down the two he had met under unfortunate circumstances at the bar. He has intended to go out earlier to find them and keep watch of their activities, but after getting the call Andrew Adams was on his way he spent three days just warning the surrounding creatures to lay low or leave the city and it's surroundings for a while. Garm seemed to be on the trail tonight though, and was leading down to a concerning area.
He had managed to miss the posters put up by Andrew at the society, and as such was only going on the feeling that the two may be hunting Hunters. Seeing as they let him go however, he had some hope. Or at least he did until Garm started leading him in the direction of the barrier's weak point. His concern wasn't so much that they would try anything with the barrier, but it's a common place to station hunters at to gaurd or repair it. If those two were here he'd have to assume they were keeping tabs on hunters for one reason or another.
Suddenly Garm's speed picked up, finding a stronger scent trail. Slowing down his own pace, Noah began to trail Garm from a distance.

It had only been a few days since his encounter with the hunter after the bar so it was only natural for Des to prepare himself for the real possibility of meeting more. This was a town with a rift after all, so the societies activity should be fairly large. Except...it had only taken him a few days to start doubting his original conclusion. He hadn't seen one other hunter on the streets. In fact, the creature activity was at an all time high with no repercussions to speak of. He'd always believed that the society and how it functioned was a flawed concept...more than flawed seeing how so many hunters he'd met shot first and asked questions when everything was dead. It was why he judged hunters in the same manner they judged creatures. With bullets. But that didn't mean that they weren't entirely necessary. As much as he'd like to believe in the innocence of the magical beings in the world, there was no doubt that some really were malicious. He didn't just fight for the rights of them, but also the innocents they killed. And so...some just had to die. That was what brought the blonde and his companion to the site of the rift in the first place....after they'd stopped so Des could buy bubble tea. He wasn't exactly versed in how and why and where creatures attacked...but he figured if anywhere was the place to watch, the rift would be. Sitting atop a low roof, Des chewed a tapioca ball while lazily watching his surroundings. Unlike on street level, he had a pretty clear view of everything from where he was sitting. And so far, everything seemed quiet. Literally perched one building up, Hektors gaze was much more keen then the young blonde below him. His eyes moved across the city like a hawk, not so much looking for creatures like Des was, but hunters that my harm his small friend. But somehow, his gaze managed to miss the brunette and his dog arriving on the street below them.

Garm trotted along the street and turned into an alleyway, coming to a stop and then doubling back, sniffing the ground. Had he lost the scent? Noah watched from a few meters away, wondering if tonight was going to be more dead ends. Garm seemed so sure until now though, what happened? It took a moment to notice in the dark, but an emergency fire ladder was hanging down from a building. Oh.
Noah followed Garm down the alley, and gave him a rough pat on the head before putting a foot up on the ladder. "Sorry buddy, you're going to have to wait for me again." A small whine was given in response. "I won't be long." With that, he started to climb.

Kicking his bare foot against the side of the building, the blonde took another sip of the drink. The butt of his gun with digging into the small of his back where he'd tucked it into his jeans but he was literally to lazy to readjust. The distinct sound of clinking metal drew his attention as he turned his haze towards the other side of the building. Sure enough, a brunette head peaked over the side of the building. Staring for a moment, the straw fell out of his mouth. "What the f-" He trailed off trying to find the words to express his surprise. It took him a moment of sputtering to regain his composure. Eyes never leaving the newly arrived hunter, he managed to find the straw again (after a couple of failed attempts). He took another sip before speaking. "Fancy meeting you here, hunter. If I didn't know better, I'd think you were following me."

Noah had been trying to climb quietly but upon reaching the top of the ladder and peaking over he found the man he was looking for staring straight in his direction. Shit. His face must have been as shocked as the other's, who was desperately trying to find his straw and probably some words. There was a long moment of silence and heavy consideration in just climbing back down the ladder. He had completely forgotten to speak until it dawned on him that the Blonde in front of him had composed a sensible arrangement of words and would be looking for a response. "I.. Uh, I was here to keep watch over the barrier, what the hell are you doing here?" Nailed it.

'Uuuuuh huuuuuh." Des lowered the cup to rest on his thigh but made no other move. "If that's the case come up here and join me, pretty-boy." In reality, the blonde couldn't read the other's intentions, but it was clear that he was surprised to find him here. So either, he really did have no idea he was up here, or what Des suspected was true and he was just shit at being stealthy.
"Having you stare at me from over the ledge like a stalker is genuinely creeping me out." At least then he could get a read on the guy. And also ask about where the fuck his fucking dog was. He had truly been taken in by the hunters innocent act at the bar. It was only when he asked around town about this particular hunter and his reputation did he get more then one answer along the lines of 'you mean the guy with the dog?' And here he had vehemently defended the damn thing to his owner. Man, he must as seemed like such an asshole.

Noah wasn't too sure about being so close to a man he'd seen kill a guy less than a week ago, but he took the offer as just starring from over the edge felt rather awkward. Hopping over the lip of the roof he walked over to sit down, giving a good foot of distance between them. Unsurprisingly, things still felt awkward and there was quite a pause before he found anything else to say.
After staring out across the city in silence he blurted out "So. You still haven't said why you're up here." The line delivery was a little shoddy, but at least his heart rate had calmed down.

The blonde laughed, the sound ringing out like bells. "Wow. Usually I'm the uneasy one around hunters." It was true. He didn't feel particularly threatened by the man. And he was fairly sure that he wasn't the type to kill without asking questions either. He didn't seem like that kind of hunter.
Looking away, Des let his gaze settle over the city. "Here's something that has been making me uneasy though...even though it should make me feel quite the opposite. But there seems to be a shortage of you lot around the town. So to answer your question..." He turned back to Noah, raising a brow. "I'm doing your job, seeing how no one else seems to be."

Noah's expression grew dark at the mention of the lack of hunters. A city like this should have a lot, but their numbers were less than they used to be. He pulled his knees up and rested his arms on top, wondering how much was safe to say "A few are just keeping inside for now, but you're not wrong." He looked over to gauge the man's reaction as he went on, "So who are you then? Last time we met you sounded like you had a habit of killing Hunters, but here you are talking to me and supposedly looking after the city."

Des' glanced at the other, sensing the change in demeanor. Despite his words, Des figured there was something on top of that. Had something terrible happened here? It wouldn't surprise him. The rift brought a lot of dangerous folk together. It would make sense that eventually there would be some sort of epic clash. "Hmmm.." He answered, taking another sip of his drink before glancing away. "Me? I'm no one in particular." He smiled at the other, trying to lighten the mood. After a moment the smile fell slightly as the blonde's expression became thoughtful. "I do what I have to to protect the ones that deserve it." He chose the words carefully. He was talking to a hunter after all. "Human's are so quick to judge things they don't understand, and that includes hunters. Unfortunately, a quick judgement from a hunter often leads to death. We've learned that the hard way."

"Again, you're not wrong." He let out a sigh before straightening his back up and dropping the gloomy expression. Not that his own hands were completely clean of blood, but he couldn't forget his conversation partner was a murderer, despite their small appearance. "So you intend to kill us if we step out of line?"
Most at the Society were decent, some a little less than others, but not worth killing them over. His thoughts went to the Hunters he knew as friends, they were good people, not like the ones from his home town. They... were more like Liam. He decided it best not to mention him though, or the Christian fanatic currently in town.

The blonde shrugged taking a sip of his drink. "Depends how far you step out of line. I'm here to watch you lot just as much as I am to watch the magical community." He turned his gaze away from the brunette to look across the city. More to hide his expression from Noah then to actually keep watch."Human's can be a vile species. The man you saw me take out at the club. What would he have done had I let him go? Even if he were arrested, he'd be out again in a few years right back at it. They won't change. It's in their nature." He paused, still not turning to Noah. "How is that so different then what you lot do to the ones you hunt? The difference is that they don't have a choice. They are what they are. People choose their own actions." He huffed. "So yeah. If I see someone aim to kill something that doesn't need to be, then I will be there to stop it." Finally he turned back to look at the hunter, eyes piercing and hard. For the first time since the brunette had arrived, Des looked entirely the man who had the ability to kill without blinking.

Noah starred right back, soft eyes unblinking. He wasn't sure if this man was just quick to get riled up, or if everything until now had just been an act. He had certainly gone from killer to flirt and back at the bar in what couldn't have been more than five or ten minutes. Still, Noah contemplated what had been said. In truth, this man's views weren't all that different from his own, if not a bit more extreme in how they were dealt with. It's why he'd stopped in this city out of any other he'd passed through before. The Hunters here were merciful; choosing to contract more often than not, and work with the local inhabitants. Not that this guy would know, and judging by his continued glare, he'd be quick to point out the few bad apples in the Society. This guy-
"Names" Realizing he still didn't know the other's name yet, he spoke rather abruptly, breaking the silence.
Though the situation thus far hadn't lent well to introductions, if he was going to keep talking to them 'Blondie', 'you', and 'this guy' wasn't going to cut it.

At the hunters stare, Des' expression calmed. The entire subject revolving around hunters and their actions had the ability to stir the anger within him. Not to mention that he rarely spoke to anyone about it or had to answer for his actions. His life didn't really allow for many friends.
Shaking his head slightly, he laughed away the remaining flair of anger. "Sorry. It's a sore subject for me." The hunter at least wasn't afraid of nervously blurt things out to change the subject.
"It's Des." Setting his tea down on the ledge, he held out a small hand for the other to shake. Despite it's size and the pallor of his skin, it was calloused from use and the practice of weapons; deceptive like everything else about him.

Between this night and the one at the bar, Noah really had no idea what to think of Des, who was now offering an outstretched hand. Normally, he had pretty good intuition into others, but the aforementioned drastic changes in personality was muddying his final judgment. At least, he decided, there was some sincerity in it all.
Reaching out to shake the small hand, he offered his own name, "Noah." He paused, thinking if what he wanted to say would invite kinship or more anger. "I know there's a lot of shitty people out there- shitty hunters... It's not exactly an unwarranted opinion; I can kind of understand."
