"Yup." The blonde nodded slightly, not wanting to get back into it. "I've been across most of Europe and I think you're the only hunter that's sought me out without intent to kill." He snorted. "But maybe that's because your affinity lies more the magical side, hm?" Des grinned slyly.
"Since we're doing introductions, where's that dog of yours? The one who's slobber I've been wiping out of my eye for the better part of two day?"

Sighing, Noah had a faint smile as he looked out across the city. It seemed like his excuse for being up here didn't fool anyone, and Des had found out about Garm. Or maybe he just knew from the beginning? It didn't really seem like it at the time. In any case, it seems like he'd have to come clean about it now.
"Alright, you caught me." He admitted before taking a deep breath in and standing up to stretch his legs. "I wanted to know if you really were a danger to the Hunters here or not before sounding the alarm that someone dangerous was in town. You let me live after all. So yeah, I was following you." Making sure to keep a non-threatening distance, he walked out to overlook the edge Des had been dangling a leg off of. "Garm's waiting out back in the alley. He's not exactly a ladder climbing champion." He turned his head to look back at Des, "Honestly he's probably lonely, I told him I wouldn't take long."
With his own companion brought up, it only seemed right to ask about the bird. "So where's Feathers? I was expecting to see him with you."

Still not making a move to get up, the blonde retrieved his tea and took another sip. Chewing a pearl he looked up to Noah. "Oooo~ But I am dangerous." He spoke cheekily, swinging his leg off the ledge back and forth. "But not to you. A little fairy gave me the scoop on you. Scout, pretty calm, yada, yada. That's how I found out about your fluffy friend." He'd definitely had his suspicions. "Oh, Hektor's always watching." Eyes never leaving Noah, the blonde raised a finger to point straight up, before taking another sip of tea. Sure enough, leaning over the edge and cast in shadow was the bird, yellow eyes seeming to glow in the darkness.

A fairy huh? Well, at least it hadn't decided to play a cruel prank, or this meeting may have ended up very different. Even if he was safe, despite Des' playful tone, that meant the other Hunters still weren't if they got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. He'd have to warn them. Though, he wasn't sure how just yet, as he didn't want to sell him or his bird out as bad people... Following Des' finger up he made an involuntary grimace when he found the glowing eyes glaring down at him. "And you said I was creepy."

Mentally kicking himself for not noticing the hunter sooner, Hektor had been watching the man like a hawk as soon as he's arrived on the roof. As much as the hunter seemed harmless, he wouldn't allow anything to happen to his human. Having been noticed, he vaulted over the lip of the roof and with a single flap of his massive wingspan landed next to Noah.
Smiling, the blonde still didn't make any move to get up. "Why did you think I was so at ease sitting unarmed next to you?" He may indeed be able to handle himself, but having Hektor watching over him allowed him to relax in a way that he wouldn't otherwise. He also wasn't entirely unarmed either...but Noah didn't need to know that.
"Any activity?" Des turned to his companion who was giving the hunter a weary look.
"Barely." Hektor finally turned his yellow eyes away from Noah to the man on the ground. "A few creatures, but the seem uninterested in the rift. No hunters other than him."
"Urrrgh, this is getting so boring." Des tipped his head back to rest on the wall behind him, rolling his eyes over to look at Noah. "I have no idea how you lot do it."

"You should be thankful it's boring; we do a lot to keep it that way." It would be a lie to say the Hunter wasn't at least a little proud of the setup this city had. Identifying threats through a network of magical folk, relaying that info back to scouts, and sending out a team to turn anything back before it can make it into the city. At least, usually they get turned back. That being the case, he was a little worried about how long that bigoted asshole of a hunter was going to be staying. To keep everyone safe, the network for all intents and purposes, was down. Sure most of the Hunters that usually patrol the streets were keeping the outer city limits under watch, but it made him feel a little uneasy.
"Anyway, this isn't even really my usual job, but I assume music would-" At that moment a long drawn out whine could be heard from the other side of the building, "Aw shit". Noah glanced up at Hektor to make sure he wasn't going to stop him from rushing over to the far ledge he had first climbed up from. "Hey Garm, it's alright! I'm still here, you're fine." He called down to the hound, who began wagging it's tail at the sight of it's owner. Garm was obedient, but they were figuratively, and quite literally inseparable. He knew the dog was unhappy being so far away from himself.
A thought came to mind "Hey, Feathers.. er, Hektor? If the three of us are going to be staying up here, you wouldn't be able to bring Garm up here too, would you?" It seemed like a ridiculous request, his dog was massive, and it wasn't exactly like this was a happy group of friends just hanging out on a roof, but hey, worth a shot.

"That's true." Though most of the time the thought of HOW they kept it that way made anger spark through him. Indeed, he'd met hunters, like Noah, that shared his morals more or less. But like anything, it was the bad that got remembered. And when he had issues with hunters (Or visa versa), he REALLY had issues. Even Hektor had a distasteful look on his face at the mention of it. Hektor blanched at the hunters request, letting out a gurgled keening sound of unhappiness. Des on the other hand who was watching the hunter from his still seated position laughed. "Aw, come on. I know damn well you're strong enough to do it." "I really do not want to..." Hektor grumbled under his breath but stalked over to stand beside Noah, looking down at Garm who was staring up expectantly. Sighing heavily enough to make sure Noah heard him, he hopped off the side of the roof, flaring his wings and landing in the ally beside the massive dog. "I am supposed to lift you up there to your human." The spoke quietly to the dog. "I understand how much you want to be with him. So please cooperate." With another great sigh, he pulled his arms out from under his feathers where they stayed warm at his sides. Stepping forward cautiously, he wrapped them around Garms upper body. "This is going to be difficult without a running start." He grumbled for the dogs benefit but unfurled his wings once more. Flapping them a few times to test how much effort it took, he finally lurched off the ground. Pumping the air frantically, he ended up digging his back claws into the side of the building to get more lift. Coupled with his surprising weight, the hounds kicking back feet certainly wasn't making it any easier. Finally reaching the top, Hektor shoved the huge dog over the side before clinging to the wall to catch his breath. As he did so, he glared at the blonde from across the roof. "Don't be a pansy!" Des yelled in response to the glare before turning his gaze over to Noah. "Don't mind him. He's the fun police."

Ouch, wrong words. The look on Hektor's face was clear of that. Still, maybe he would be able to convince these two yet of this city's methods.
The looming bird seemed even less pleased after his request, though somewhat surprisingly, he followed through with it after being heckled by Des. Noah watched as, with several very audible sighs, Hektor began hauling Garm up through the air. It was really quite a sight to behold. Even with such an impressive wingspan, Garm couldn't have been less than 130kg, maybe more. Noah couldn't lift him for sure.
With an excited Garm now up on the roof, the hound's companion had to fight back against an onslaught of slobbery dog kisses to remain in the conversation. He really had not expected this turn out of events at all. At Des' words the Hunter looked towards Hektor, still huffing at the edge of the building. He cast an apologetic smile over with a quiet but sincere thanks. "Daek." He focused back on his dog to make sure it followed the command, before turning to Hektor again, "I'm honestly surprised though, aside from carrying Garm up, I didn't even know you had arms." He reached out slightly to the bird, "do you need a hand up?"

At the words, Hektor clucked irritably, a sound that originated at the back of his throat. "Of course I do." He spoke gruffly, not making any move to take Noah's offer. "I just don't flail them around pointlessly like humans." Huffing a breath, he let go of the wall. Turning mid air, he flared his wings and propelled himself down the length of the ally. With the angle, the tip of the flight feather dragged a gouge of cement and sparks along the length of cement. Circling the building once, he finally perched on the ledge beside Des.
"Show off." The blonde laughed, kicking his bare foot with even more enthusiasm before turning back to Noah. "What a big puppy. Barghest? Black dog? I get around, but my knowledge mostly lies with the scaled sort."

Seeing the mark left in the alley below, Noah made a point to remember not to get on the bad end of those wings; they were just as sharp as he had assumed. Though, the real danger seemed more in spooking a defensive response out of him than any real hostility for the time being.
"Close," the Hunter made his way back across the roof, Garm trotting along in step. "Hellhound. Met him North of here, when we were both just young pups." Sensing a light mood from Noah's casual tone, Garm hurried ahead a little to meet Des again, tail wagging and sniffing him all over before promptly sitting down beside him. "He's a little too friendly for his own good, but he's not a bad judge of character." Noah planted himself down as well, leaning back against the mass of thick black fur. "He seems to like you." The comment was directed to Des but Noah was still watching Hektor.
"Metal feathers," now his focus was to the human beside him, "for how many avians frequent here, that's a pretty rare trait. How'd you two you meet?"

At the approach of the dog, Des' face lit up. Setting the now empty plastic cup on the ledge beside him, he reached up to ruffle the fur just behind the dogs ears. "Please don't lick me in the eye again and we'll be fine." Despite the sincerity of the comment, his voice was light and cheerful. "I've wanted to pet you for a while, you big boy." Watching with bored yet keen interest, Hektor sized up the dog. As much as it still unnerved him being this close to a hunter and his ally, Des seemed pretty relaxed. He would keep an eye, but his gut feeling was telling him that they were safe. When he realized that the hunter was speaking to him Hektor glanced up. He was about to answer when Noah's question cause him to bristle slightly. Face darkening as well, Des's hands fell into his lap from where he was still fluffing Garm's fur. Both companion's sat in silence for a moment before the blonde spoke, his voice uncharacteristically quiet and reserved. "This is empty. I'm going to find a garbage, I'll be right back." Taking the top of the plastic cup in his teeth, the blonde hopped off the cement ledge and slid down the awning. Catching the steel edge, he dropped down until he was hanging by his arms. Letting go, he then fell the last distance before landing easily on his feet and slinking off. Sighing and watching him go, Hektor turned his eyes to the brunette. "You are a hunter. You know of the rituals that exist for stealing power, yes?" His voice was gruff and expression solemn. "I was captured for such a purpose. That was when we met the first time. When Des saved me I was dying; he did not think twice before sharing his life. But why he was there... he speaks of it very little, even to me." Expression steely, he met Noah's gaze. "This is why, hunter, we do not trust your kin."

There was a long silence after Hektor's last words, and Noah couldn't face his piercing glare.
He looked out over the city again, threading his fingers through Garm's thick coat while he went over what he had just been told. Hunters really were awful. There was no running from the things others have done, and are still doing, all in the name of being a Hunter. In the name of some 'Justice' or sport. Even so, Noah had still chosen to keep the bloody title when he left home. He wasn't about to deny what it often meant. Normally at times like this he would interject the silence with some light hearted comment or a joke, but...
A deep sigh.
"Didn't think twice, huh?" Finally breaking the silence with a quiet voice, Noah spoke more to himself than to Hektor, "I was the same with Garm." He smiled faintly, but there was traces of a pained, or maybe guilty look on the Hunter's face.

"You..." Hektor's expression warmed slightly, changing from the cold distrust to something closer to curiosity. "You do not act like a hunter."
Hopping down from the ledge he had been perched on he approached the two. It occurred to him that this was the first time he properly towered over the hunter...yet unfortunately, it was the first time he had no desire to.
"You seem kind." The feathers on his head slowly flattened from where they had been sticking up. "I will not press the circumstances as why you share your life with this creature. Yet despite this, you still keep your title? If I may ask....why?"
It was strange...talking to someone with the title of hunter. Noah wasn't the first who seemed like a good man stuck in the wrong job. But even then, those hadn't been situations where they could sit down and chat. This conversation could offer some rare insight.

"I'm just a bleeding heart hippie I guess." Noah still didn't turn to face Hektor, instead his eyes were caught staring out into the distance at nothing in particular. "Hunter. One who hunts. There's death in the very nature of the word, isn't there? It's.... Contradictory, but I don't believe it has to be that way." At some point the young Hunter had stopped playing with Garm's fur, which drew out an upset whine from the fluffy beast, interrupting his next words.
"Ah, sorry buddy." He picked up where he left off, scratching through tufts of fur around Garm's neck, before continuing on, "I didn't chose to be raised a Hunter, but I stayed one because I thought I could change something." Finally breaking from the starring contest with the horizon, he looked Hektor in the eye once more. "I thought I was wasting my time till I found my way here."

"Forgive me, but I have a hard time believing that an entire town of hunters share your ideals." the last few feathers that had been standing on end defensively were finally laying down. "We've been many places and it is a rare day to find even one like you in the world of hunters."
He might have continued, but the blonde returning to the building caught his gaze.
Readjusting the gun that was tucked in the small of his back to ensure it wouldn't clatter to the ground, Des then took a running start at the building. Catching the steel sign, bolted into the brick wall, he hoisted himself up to another handhold before clambering onto the awning. Bare feet easily gripping onto the plastic, he simply hopped back onto the ledge.
"Hmm, sorry that took so long. I ended up having to dodge a cop." He laughed lightly as if the conversation that had spurred him to leave hadn't happened. "Pretty sure they know my face."
