Friendship: a contract between two close friends.
Separation is limited; the two must stay close by (within reason). No or limited power transferal, but possible shared power if strongly willed.
ie. Human contracts dragon. Human can't do anything about bad event due to limited ability. Dragon can't do anything about bad event due to magic barrier. Dragon gives faith to human to gain minimal powers to try and go against cause of bad event.
Transferral is 10% or less of creatures’ full power and is temporary.
Upon death of one of the contractee, the other will feel minimal pain corresponding to the other's death-causing ailment for a short time, but will not sustain damage or die themselves.
Contract can be broken at any time with little repercussions.
Survival: a contract between any two in desperate need of survival.
Separation has a large range, and power transferal is very high. Both sides become stronger; strength bonus is based on who is contracting.
Upon death of one, the other will die. Pain of the body is also shared to some degree.
Contract is unbreakable on penalty of death.
Similar ideals: a contract between two who may not necessarily get along but have the same or alike goals.
Separation does not matter. Power is moderately shared (50%). Death and pain is not shared. Breaking of this contract has no side effects.
Once goal is fulfilled or deemed unattainable, the contract will be considered fulfilled and all effect nullified. Contract must have clearly set goals or power transferal will not be as full or useful. When working in unison towards the goal: power is transferred at the maximum amount it can be within this contract. When working on variant goals from the one the contract was built on full power will not be transferred, and in the case of going against the goal or against each other the transfer will be canceled, and the contract itself maybe on the line.
Possession: Happens between a bodiless entity and a host. Sometimes forced, this form of 'contract' has the biggest amount of variance in it. For that reason here are sub categories. The main Two are:
Takeover: the host's mind is put into a coma state while the possessor takes full control of the body. If the body's minimal daily needs are not sustained, magic must be used to keep the shell going. Host will die if possessor leaves, unless expelled from the body at an early stage.
Shared Existence Passive: Both minds occupy one body and equally share it. Thoughts can be shared and they both control the actions of the body. Both minds experience everything the body goes through and retained the memories. Hosts do not go through any trauma if the possessor is removed, though lingering thoughts may stay locked in the subconscious for a while after.
Shared Existence Active: Both minds occupy one body but only one is active at a time. Thoughts have some difficulty being shared due to the fact it's a less extreme version of takeover, and the inactive side has no knowledge of what the body is doing. Hosts may either go through no trauma or massive trauma depending on the situation if the possessor is removed.
